12 thoughts everyone has after graduation

1# "Sh*t, I’ve done the wrong degree.."
You definitely knew in first year that a bachelor of arts wasn’t an anagram for high roller but you held on to some kind of faith that come graduation you would be overwhelmed by dream job offers. Yeah, nah.

2# "That's just nepotism!"
After 3 years at uni it turns out its not always what you know. Every job advertisement you see will ask for at least 2 years experience and you’ll wonder how the hell you're meant to get that experience if no one will hire your inexperienced ass. Then Susie whats her name will get a paid internship at a firm which is owned by her dads best friend. Yep.

#3 “F*ck this sh*t I’m travelling the world.”
The desire to drop everything and jump on a plane will be real. And I suggest you do it while its still an acceptable excuse to put off getting a job.

#4 “I can’t do this.”
You will wonder if you’re cut out for life in the real world. You’re stepping into the unknown and the truth is, you have every reason to feel uncertain. The real world is scary place but its also non negotiable so get over it.

#5 “How does everyone have their shit together except me.”
its probably going to feel like everything is falling into place for everyone around you and its all too easy. The truth is, they’re in the deep end just like you and they have no idea what they’re doing.

#6 “I hate this job.”
Its highly likely that you’ll hate your first job, and your second, and possibly your third and fourth.

#7 “Who the hell gave me a degree.”
You may feel like an impostor, just because you have a degree doesn’t mean you’re an expert or even remember any of the papers you took over the last 3 years. Fake it till you make it, sister

#8 “how am I broke?”
You will work full time and be just as broke as you were as a student and it will hurt deeply. You will have more bills and responsibilities to ignore than ever before and you won't be living in a cute, intercity loft. You’ll probably be back at your parents house.

#9 “Where the hell is everyone?”
People will disappear. Your friends will get grad jobs in grad cities and start driving grad cars and one day you’ll realize you see the little India delivery guy more than you see any of your old friends

#10 “what are savings?”
People will start talking about saving for a house before you can fathom having getting out of over draft. You’re not going to want to put away you’re many when you’ve only just start making it, lets be honest, you’re going to want to blow that paper on beau coops and bar tabs and you'll find out at the end of the tax year that, that isn't a good idea.

#11 “work casual?”
You will quickly find out that most of your wardrobe is completely inappropriate for the professional world.  6 different pairs of gym tights got you to our 8am lectures and a strappy playsuit pretty much covered you for the weekends but that aint gonna fly at a grad job. You’re going to some new clothes and you’re not going to want them. I'm talking dress pants a blazers - work it.

#12 “Why can’t I…"
You’re going to feel sorry for yourself on a daily basis comparing your life to your more successful friends. You’ll constantly ask yourself, why can’t I have that job, why can’t I afford those things? why didn’t I study pharmacy? why is my life so hard? You will bitch and moan and let me tell you, it will be incredibly unbecoming.  Jealousy is a limit you put on yourself so compare your life to the one you had yesterday and take it day day. Rome wasn’t built the minute you threw your cap in the air and posed for a photo under the clock tower.
